Greysmith: Innovative Abstract RPG
"Like Championship Manager with a fantasy setting."
In Greysmith you avoid all the inconveniences of traipsing round the dungeon (anxiety, cold nights, sore feet), while reaping all the rewards (glory, loot, success). Instead of fighting evil by, you know, fighting evil, you fight evil by outfitting adventurers who do the actual fighting.
Equip a Hunter with a Hungarian Bow which you craft out of Osage Orange so they can get the kill-shot. Give a Burglar a pair of bearskin moccasins so he can steal you metal without being seen. Forge a Xeno ring out of gold (for Fire) or brass (for Wind) for your Wizard so he can bring you back a book about camouflage. Outfit a Hero with a Damascus Steel Bohemian Earspoon so she can confront the danger and defeat it.
Move from town to town until you* confront the thing that is menacing the region. In each town you* can defeat the danger by ten brave Heroes confronting it and living to tell the tale. You lose if ten of your customers dont make it back, so its up to you to give them good enough equipment so that that doesnt happen.
* Not you personally, obviously.
Greysmith. Check it out.
